Kilimli Bay is 37 kilometres away from the centre of Şile. It is located just east of the centre of Ağva. Kilimli offers a fascinating sea landscape with its islets and cliffs rising from the water. The rocks in the water are as if carefully carved by a sculptor. The effect of the wind and the strong waves of the Black Sea on the limestones shaped these mysterious rock sculptures.
Under a huge rock mass, Delikli Kaya, which is eroded by waves and where the waves formed a hole, is one of the places you should see. You can view rock sculptures, natural bridges and pools from the photo shooting point. You can view the rock formations in this area like a painting with the long exposure technique. One of the most special natural structures in the region is Gelin Kayası (Bride’s Rock). Even though the bride’s head is missing today, the story of the bride still lives on among the public. The myth was that a beautiful girl living in Ağva had to marry a well-to-do man instead of her beloved. She jumped into the cold waters of the Black Sea and got lost among the whirlpools. Despite all the searches, her body could not be found, but then a new rock formed in the sea. It is rumoured that the bride was heard crying during the dark and moonless nights. This myth will give another meaning to your photo.
