Sülüklü Lake recreation area is located about 19 kilometres west of Şile centre, on the Sofular village road. Alacalı beach with its sparkling sea is right nearby. There are also a great number of facilities around it to meet all your needs such as food and beverage. There is sparse stone pine at the entrance to the area (Pinus pinea) and common oak (Quercus robur) and sessile oak (Quercus petrae) in sloping areas. It is possible to see some forest bird species in the region such as chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs), Eurasian jay (Garrulus glandarius), Syrian woodpecker (Dendrocopus syriacus). You may come across Sardinian warblers (Sylvia melanocephala) in the bushes of the region. The wide dunes adjacent to the site are also home to many rare dune plants.
