Cycling Routes of Byala
The territory of Byala Municipality and especially its coastal zone is convenient, suitable and attractive for development and offering of cycling eco-routes. The coastline of the municipality, characterized by a combination of a rocky shore, small bays and beaches with sand dunes, is a valuable resort resource that gives it attractiveness.
Taking into account the recommendations of the expert cyclists, the vision for the layout of the three cycling and tourist routes and their trajectory was formed, with regard given to the tangible presence of natural, historical, archaeological, cultural and ethnographic landmarks.
The locations for construction of the birdwatching tower and the nine places for rest and relaxation were determined, which are to be located in places with breathtaking panoramic views, suitable for photography, amateur and professional observation of animal species, marine life and birds.
The creation of the cycling eco-routes will, in addition to pleasure for the cyclists from their favourite activity, also present to them the beauty and natural diversity of the territory of Byala Municipality.
Three cycling routes have been developed – red, yellow and blue (connecting the yellow and red) route:
The red route for cycling and hiking starts from the town of Byala, passes through the forest and ends directly on the beach on the Black Sea coast, at the northernmost point of Byala Municipality, on the border of Shkorpilovtsi resort, Dolni Chiflik Municipality.
The yellow route for cycling and hiking starts from the ancient fortress on Cape “St. Atanas” in Byala, passes through the town of Byala, meadows, vineyards and fields and reaches the natural landmark White Rocks and the locality Byala Reka. Iton ends in the beautiful locality Karadere.
Along the yellow route, in a municipal property, in the area of the natural landmark White Rocks, where Via Pontica passes – one of the main migration routes for birds from Europe to Africa, a Birdwatching Tower was built, and along both cycling routes, we have designated a total of nine places for rest and contemplation of the beautiful nature.
The blue route was additionally developed to connect the two main routes /red and yellow/: Shkorpilovtsi resort – Karadere
