Meşelik, near-by the Yeniköy, is located just south of the Kaletepe recreation area. There are places in Yeniköy where you can meet almost all of your needs for a picnic. Meşelik is a large recreation area covered with deciduous forests. The picnic area takes place in a healthy forest, a mix of Hungarian oak (Quercus frainetto), sessile oak (Quercus robur) beech (Fagus orientalis), Oriental plane (Platanus orientalis). Near the recreation area, on the Yeniköy road, you can visit the ruins of a church, which is thought to reach today from the Roman Period, and Ayazma, which is still flowing. You can also include the old Greek houses in the village in your trip. Kaletepe birdwatching point, just near Meşelik, is also a nice option for bird lovers.
